To knit or not to knit?

Is that really a question? As I sit in my family room, watching dust/fur moats float across the floor knowing I have two more loads of laundry to do and, of course, the grocery shopping needs to be done, I also notice the three bags of yarn projects calling my name. I’m currently working on two KAL projects; the Betwixt shawl and the Archaos sweater. The other bag is a crochet project: a granny square afghan. I’ve recently started crocheting again due to the fact that a niece has discovered crocheting and I’m driven by her enthusiasm for the craft. Though I know the correct thing would be to get my chores done first, I also know that I will not do that. Let’s be honest. If given the choice of a pleasurable task or a chore, which would you choose?

A customer came into the store to tell me she was excited that we did season (holiday) knitting. She hadn’t seen it in other yarn shops. She recommended this candy corn hat to me. It’s a Relo Design pattern on Ravelry, and it’s only $1. I like this pattern because of the twisted rib; the pattern covers newborn to adult L. That’s a lot of stuff for $1. Check it out. I’m seeing it in fall colors, stripes, and holiday colors in the future.

Check out our latest store sample. This neck warmer was knitted using Plymouth Baby Alpaca Brush/Bulky. It uses two skeins of yarn. The yarn is so soft and luscious. The pattern is free on Ravelry. What a great holiday knit for that special person!

The Stephen West MKAL is organized. Call the shop if you are interested in being part of the group. Start date is October 5, when the first clue is dropped. We have lots of colors of Cascade Heritage to choose from!
