We are back!

Wow it’s been a busy time here at the store and personally. I was off-line due to my daughter’s wedding. It was an absolutely beautiful event and fun was had by all. For a few, maybe too much fun! We joined two great families and I love that our family grew larger. My husband and I wish Taylor and Justin a lifetime of happiness. I was not able to finish her wedding shawl, which features Christmas trees and snowflakes, the theme of the wedding, but like the cobbler whose children had no shoes, my children are used to the fact that often their knitted items get done later than the required knitted items for others. When I finish the shawl, I’ll post the pattern and a picture.

Featured cowl this week:

The designer, Knitty Keen, Jennifer E.S. Crimmins, calls this a Neck Warmer. It fits a bit tighter than a cowl, as she originally designed it for her husband.

I knit it with Malabrigo Rios, but any worsted weight yarn will work. It’s a simple 6 row repeat pattern that you will memorize quickly.

In Store:

Wow! When I got back to the store this week, I was amazed at everything we have in stock. Many hand-knit items finished and ready for you to purchase and give as gifts. Also, we have felted ornaments and beautiful felted mobiles along with handmade recycled mittens, lots of bags, and of course yarn.

Have a great great week and happy knitting!

  1. Congratulations on your daughter’s marriage. We also feel blessed with the family our daughter marriend in to at the end of September. It was a joyous, loving weekend of events that blended two wonderful families.

The pattern for your daughter’s shawl sounds beautiful. Is it an original design or pattern that might be purchased? (or an original that might be available?)

  2. Glad to hear that your daughter’s wedding was wonderful and enjoyable! Might you know the name of the cowl patter that you shared in your message today – Lofty Thoughts?

Thanks – still working on the Northern Strand Cowls…

  3. Hi, I just asked the name of the Neck Warmer pattern, and discovered on Ravelry that it is “Neck Warmer.” LOL

Thank you for the incentive to answer my own question.
